IGNITE Oracy Event

“Your words matter.  Your voices are valued, and we are listening.”  The message given to our IGNITE Oracy students on Friday 28th February, summed up the hard work they have put into their Oracy lessons - brand new to MEA since September.  This was an opportunity to celebrate the progress they have made with developing their Oracy skills, and giving them an audience to present to was exciting!  The students spoke passionately about the aspects of life in Wythenshawe they would like to see changes made to, in order to create a ‘Fantastic Future’ for their community.  We had some external guests come in to listen and engage in round table conversations with the students – our local MP, Mr Kane, along with Sue Griggs, our Voice 21 relationship lead.  Families and carers were invited in to listen, and everyone left feeling incredibly proud of the confident speakers our young people are becoming.
