We had an exciting visit on 1st May from Leeds-born author Tom Palmer, who spoke to MEA students about his new book After the War. Our students had the opportunity to ask Tom about his creative writing process and for some tips to apply to their own writing practices. Tom told students how his journey into writing started through his love for football and how his passions inspired the stories he wrote. Students took part in a creative writing workshop hosted by Tom, where they learnt how to build a story from scratch.

Students left the workshop with a signed copy of After the War, feeling inspired and excited to write about their own passions, with the guidance they'd received from Tom.
